Rubber Expansion Joints
Rubber expansion joints are flexible pipeline connecting elements manufactured of natural or synthetic elastomers, fluoro-plastics and fabrics used to absorb movements in any piping system while containing pressure and the flowing medium. More demanding applications require to include metallic outer reinforcements and even inner sleeves or rings to enssure proper and safe operation of the rubber expansion joint.
ROTH rubber expansion joints are designed according to various industry standards and they always comply with the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/UE for the specified operating conditions. Also, ROTH rubber expansion joints are available with DVGW approval/certification for water and gas supply and even with approval for heating applications in accordance to DIN4809.
Applications
Rubber expansion joints are used in various systems including: heating, air-conditioning and ventilation systems (HVAC); power plants; refineries and petrol industry; chemical plants, laboratories and research facilities; ship-building and many other industries. When buying or supplying rubber expansion joints, it is always important to consider the following factors:

- Pressure-resistant reinforcing fabrics;
- Weather conditions;
- Ozone and UV-resistance of external layers

Flange Couplings
- Type A1 Rubber Expansion JointStandard bellow rubber expansion joint, for mounting with flanges directly in the pipeline. Available in various rubber qualities, with standard or custom flanges.
- Type A1-T Rubber Expansion JointStandard bellow rubber expansion joint with tie rods system, for mounting with flanges directly in the pipeline. Available in various rubber qualities, with standard or custom flanges.
Thread Couplings
- Type B1 Rubber Expansion JointStandard bellow rubber expansion joint, for mounting with external threads in the pipeline. Available in various rubber qualities, with standard DIN / ISO or custom threads.
- Type B2 Rubber Expansion JointStandard bellow rubber expansion joint, for mounting with internal threads in the pipeline. Available in various rubber qualities, with standard DIN / ISO or custom threads.
- Type B3 Rubber Expansion JointStandard bellow rubber expansion joint, for mounting with internal and external threads in the pipeline. Available in various rubber qualities, with standard DIN / ISO or custom threads.
Single-flange Coupling
- Type C1 Rubber Expansion JointStandard single-flange rubber expansion joint designed for vibrations absorbtion. EPDM rubber is vulcanized directly on the DIN flange, thus ensuring the perfect sealing surface.
- Type C2 Rubber Expansion JointStandard single-flange rubber expansion joint designed for vibrations absorbtion. Special EPDM rubber is vulcanized directly on the flange, thus ensuring the perfect sealing surface and hight temperatures operation.
