Angular Expansion Joints

Angular stainless steel expansion joints are exclusivly designed to compensate angled movements withing the piping lines. Usually this results in installing two or three expansion joints in a row in order to preform adequate compensation and stability.

In order to compensate angled movements in a single plane, construction with hinged bars are the common solutions. Standard hinged expansion joint do no allow any axial movements, but for some application it might be possible to build the expansion joint with a "slotted hinge" designed to allow a relative small axial dispalcement.

Some applications require the compensation of angled movements in a circular plane, in which case cardanic expansions joint are preffered. Stainless steel cardanic expansion joint are built with a cardanic/Gimbal articulation in order to enssure maximal stability of the system.
